       NPL- Neuro linguistic programming

·        Neurolinguistics is the study of relationship between language and the brain.

·        NPL works on the principle that everyone has all the resources they need to make positive changes in their own life.

·        Learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind. 

·        Neuro- linguistic programming is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. 

·        Neuro linguistic programming is a science of modelling the patterns of human behaviour. 

·        NLP Studies about some people in different fields become excellent yielding outstanding results.

·        In the term neuro linguistic programming 'neuro' represents brain and nervous system.

·        Linguistics represents language skills in NLP.

·        In the term NLP programming refers to patterns of how we organize thought and ideas.

·        NLP is described as the technology of mind, the science of achievement, the study of success, and the study of dynamics between the brain and language. 

·        NLP is directly applicable in the fields such as communication, business, sales, education and therapy.

·          NLP helps to influence emotional and psychological states and helps to replace negative behaviour with positive ones. 

Post method era

·        By the end of the 20th century some people spoke of the death of the methods and approaches and the term post method era was sometimes used.
 

·         Post method era let us learn and understand different methods and approaches and also takes from different elements to build up our
own. 

·        'There never was and never will be a method for all'- David Nunan.

·        David Nunan is the author of the ELT textbook series 'Go for it'.

·        By early 199’0s, many experts as well as practitioner's believed that there was no single method that was superior or better than others. Thus there was an opinion to unify all methods. This particular time is called ' post method error' when there is no single method that is predominant.

Extra Notes

·        Method is a specific instructional design based on particular theory. Example direct method.

·        Approach is a set of beliefs and principles as a basis of teaching a language. Example communicative approach.
 

·         Technique means teaching learning activities. Example role play.

·       Strategy means the skill in planning or accomplishing any subject matter in an exquisite manner. Example establishing a good rapport with students is a strategy to facilitate discipline.

Competency based language teaching (CBLT)

·        CBLT Approach emerged in the United States in the 1970's. 

·        CBLT focuses on helping the learner attain specific competences so as to equip them to use the language in real life situations.

·        CBLT is an outcome based approach.

·        CBLT follows product evaluation.
 

·        CBLT is characterized as based on learning outcome.
       

·          CBLT equips children to use the language in real life situations like job        application, job interview, work schedules etc.

Field Trip Report

OBJECTIVES        As part of the B.Ed. curriculum the trainees were supposed to attend a field trip based on a particular theme. The theme of the field trip for the English Optional trainees was art. In other words, to develop the aesthetic sense, philosophy of art, philosophy of beauty, theory of art, imagination and creativity to become an effective teacher in English was the objective of this trip.
