CONTENT ANALYSIS
My Grandmother’s house is a beautiful poem by Kamala Das. Here the poet shares her lost and fond memories of her grandmother and the love she received from her and she also associates these with the image of the deserted ancestral home where she spent her life’s happiest days. Now after a long years she longs to go back to look through the blind windows and bring back a handful of darkness (sad and painful memories). Now she doesn’t get any care thus she is begging at strangers doors to get love at least in small changes. The poem uses poetic devices like imagery, simile and personification.
