CONTENT ANALYSIS
Ella Wheeler Wilcox’s “Solitude” is about the relationship between the individual and the outside world. In the first stanza Wilcox shows how you must face your problem instead of seeking happiness through others. The poet says that when you are happy and joyful, people will want to be around you, when you are depressed nobody will be there for you. People will only want you at your best and never at your worst.

Teacher creates an informal interaction with the students to make a fresh environment for the students to start the class

INTRODUCING THE AUTHOR
Teacher introduce the author to the students by showing a picture of the poet……… as a slide

EXPLANATION OF THE TITLE
Teacher asks an explanation of the title from the student’s side and later explains the title to the students.

LEADING TO THE TOPIC
 Teacher introduces the poem solitude by showing a video based on the poem and asks students about their opinion
       1.  Do you readily help others when they are in need?
         2.   Point you wish to have someone beside you when you are sad or in distress?

RECITATION/ MODEL RECITATION OF THE POEM
Teacher reads the poem with proper tone and expression

SILENT READING
Teacher asks the students to read the poem silently and understand the beauty of the poem along with the message the poet wants to convey through her experience.

READING AND EXPLANATION OF THE POETRY
Teacher divides the class into 4 groups and asks each group to explain the poem in their own way using innovative method (it can be role play, Monoact, etc.

GROUP ACTIVITY
Teacher asks the students to be in groups and find out the rhyming words and alliteration from the stanza

QUESTIONING
Teacher asks some questions to the students to check their understanding.     
 1. What does the opening lines tell us about the present day world?
           2.Life is a mixture of joy and sorrows how differently do people react to each others of them?
            3.  Even the earth is indifferent to human suffering identity the lines hint this idea?
CONCLUSION
Teacher concludes the class by giving a summary of the portion.
FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY
Prepare a summary of the stanza taken

Field Trip Report

OBJECTIVES        As part of the B.Ed. curriculum the trainees were supposed to attend a field trip based on a particular theme. The theme of the field trip for the English Optional trainees was art. In other words, to develop the aesthetic sense, philosophy of art, philosophy of beauty, theory of art, imagination and creativity to become an effective teacher in English was the objective of this trip. For this purpose along with the Optional teacher, other staffs and students we attended a field trip Thiruvananthapuram and the places we visited were ‘Kuthiramalika’, ‘Chitralayalam’, ‘Napier Museum’ and ‘Kovalam Beach’. INTRODUCTION         On 16 th November 2017 at 8 am after breakfast from Fathima Memorial Training College, Pallimukku we started our journey. The total strength of students and teachers were 110.
