Children behave differently on different occasion. Teachers are constantly observing this behavior. Much of this behavior, if regularly recorded, can be of immense value in evaluation. Checklist is a device, which can be used for this purpose.
A checklist is a simple tool of evaluation. It is easy to make, easy to use, and yet can be constructed to cover various aspects of an individual’s behavioral adjustment. In preparing a checklist, the teacher must keep in mind what kinds of behaviors are important to record and what kind of objectives are to be evaluated.
The check-list is a simple laundry-list type of device, consisting of a prepared list of items. It is easy to construct and easy to use. This tool has the advantage of systematizing and facilitating the recording of observations and helping to assure the consideration of all important aspects of the object or action observed. The result can be recorded by putting tick-mark against the item. The cumulative result will be used for evaluation.
